Ozone Therapy
Ozone is a gas consisting of three molecules of oxygen produced by oxygen going through energy. Ozone (O3) is a highly reactive form of oxygen that is composed of three oxygen atoms. In IV ozone therapy, medical-grade ozone gas is generated by passing pure oxygen through an ozone generator, creating a mixture of ozone and oxygen.
The history of IV ozone therapy dates back to the early 20th century when it was first used in Germany for various health conditions. Ozone therapy has been extensively researched in Europe and Cuba for the last sixty years and millions of treatments have been performed with a higher safety profile than aspirin.

Common Reported Benefits of Ozone:
Increased energy and stamina - Due to improved oxygen efficiency and metabolism
Greater sense of wellbeing
Reduced inflammation which can help to reduce pain and discomfort
Can help with autoimmune discomfort by quieting down the immune system
Improved clarity/decreased brain fog - Due to improved oxygen efficiency and metabolism
IV ozone therapy is often used in various health conditions:
· Chronic infection
· Autoimmune disease
· Cardiovascular disorders
· Chronic fatigue
· Chronic pain
· Lyme
· Mold toxicity
· Infectious diseases
· Wounds and ulcers
· Athletic enhancement (performance and recovery)
· Anti-aging/longevity (mediates oxidative stress)
Ozone therapy stimulates the body toward homeostasis by creating a mild, acute oxidative stress and activates the NRF2 pathway (the same pathway activated during exercise and fasting) and its immune-stimulating effects. In doing so, ozone therapy is able to increase the body’s natural antioxidant, enhance oxygen metabolism, and modulate the immune system.
All of these process can help to downregulate inflammation, increase oxygen delivery, support mitochondria, and promote detoxification. These immune supporting responses can also help to inactivate bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeast and protozoa by disrupting the integrity of the cell.
It is not the ozone itself that helps with healing, but once ozone comes in contact with the bloodstream, it stimulates the fundamental processes of the body so the body can work to heal itself. It helps the body to achieve self-regulation and homeostasis, creating an opportune environment for healing to take place.
During IV ozone, a small amount of the ozone-oxygen mixture is introduced into a medical-grade IV bag containing saline and heparin. The ozone gas dissolves into the liquid, and the resulting ozone-infused solution is then slowly administered into the blood steam through an IV drip.
Administration methods
Ozone can be administered IV, IM, injected in joints, or insufflated into ears, nose, rectum or vagina. Ozonides can be breathed through olive oil. There are also ozonated oils for wounds and acne, limb bagging, and ozonated water and capsules.
Every client is assessed individually, however it’s typical to receive one to two IV ozone therapy sessions per week and for best outcomes, 6 - 10 treatments within a 2 - 3 month window is often recommended. It can, however, be done indefinitely in chronic disease patients, preventative, or as a performance enhancement.
It’s possible to have a herxheimer or “die-off” response, so the key is “low and slow” to try mitigating this.
Ozone therapy shows promising potential to help people in their healing journey or for those looking to fight aging and live more optimally.
